Biography
Daniel Wiseman is a self-motivated individual driven by a strong desire to create meaningful social impact. His passion for community empowerment stems from his personal background, having grown up witnessing the struggles of his two younger sisters, who became pregnant due to economic hardships within their family. These experiences highlighted the broader issues of gender inequality and the lack of opportunities for girls in Malawian society, inspiring him to dedicate himself to initiatives that empower and uplift young women.
Daniel holds a degree in Physical Planning from The Polytechnic, University of Malawi. His academic background has equipped him with strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, which he applies to his community development and social impact work.
In 2024, Daniel led the Tailor Her Future initiative, which equipped 10 young women aged 15–25 in Machinjiri Area 6, Blantyre, with tailoring skills. This project was made possible through $800 (MWK 1.3 million) in Social Impact Seed Funding awarded by the Aspire Leaders Program. In 2025, Daniel’s innovative work earned him recognition as a Top 10 Global Innovation Award recipient from QS ImpACT, a UK-based organization. His recognition stemmed from developing a prototype bag made from recycled plastic waste, a project that reflects his deep commitment to environmental sustainability and promoting creative solutions to tackle plastic pollution.
Daniel’s professional journey includes serving as a data entry intern at Feed the Children Malawi for three months before joining the Road Safety Alert Foundation (ROSAF) as a Volunteer. At ROSAF, he played a key role in supporting programs aimed at raising awareness to reduce road accidents, particularly focusing on pedestrian safety.
