This project, proposed by Duterimbere Youth Group, aims to introduce reusable sanitary pad production and menstrual health education for women and girls. The group plans to train 64 youth, reach 500 community members with menstrual education, and produce 2,400 reusable pads within three months.
The project addresses period poverty, school absenteeism, and health risks linked to unsafe alternatives. It is expected to increase members’ monthly income from Rwf40,000 to over Rwf60,000 while improving menstrual health and dignity for women and girls.
