Staff
Country Director
Mamadou Sarr is a senior manager with more than 22 years of experience in program management, small business developmentm and institutional capacity building. In 2013, he co-founded Africa Carbon and Commodities, a Senegalese company that specializes in the trade of various commodities and is active in the development of projects throughout Senegal and surrounding West African countries. Prior to that, Mamadou was director of projects in the city of Joal mayor’s office for five years, overseeing and managing all development projects and supervising program staff and Peace Corps Volunteers. He was also the manager of Artisana Fish Port and production director of Senemer. Mamadou holds a Master’s degree in monitoring and evaluation from the Polytechnic University in Turin, Italy and another in human resources management from the University of Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, Senegal. Mamadou is married to Nicole Dewing, a former Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Senegal. He is fluent in French, Wolof, Serer, and proficient in English.

Deputy Director
Mareme Ndour holds a Master’s in Geography from the Université Gaston Berger of St. Louis, Senegal. She was involved in two international research programs as a junior researcher and has co-authored several published scientific papers about vulnerable communities in Africa. Mareme has a solid background in program management, event and workshop planning. She participated in many international events where she facilitated collaboration and communication between various organizations. While at Université Gaston Berger, Mareme also worked as tutor for various students. In 2014, Mareme piloted a survey of 400 households in urban areas at the northwest of Senegal. Mareme is very passionate about women’s development through education. She co-foundered a female development project where she was responsible of the marketing and the communication.

Volunteer Liaison

Abdou Cisse served as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer in Group 1, Senegal. He is originally from the Ziguinchor region. He holds a Sociology degree from the University Gaston Berger de Saint Louis where he is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in Sociology of Development. He has participated in many community service and volunteering activities throughout Senegal. Abdou is highly interested in rural development.
