At CorpsAfrica/Ghana, service is more than a commitment—it’s a way of life. Daniel Amoah, a Group 1 (G1) Volunteer, embodies this spirit. During his service at Anweem-Junction in the Central Region, he met Augustina Kpordzro, a visually impaired young woman with a dream: to further her education.
Augustina had successfully passed her WASSCE in 2015, but for eight long years, financial constraints kept her from collecting her high school certificate—an essential step to continuing her education. When Daniel heard her story at a youth community meeting, he was deeply moved. He immediately took action, spreading awareness and raising funds to clear her debt.
But Daniel’s support didn’t stop there. He ensured Augustina obtained her birth certificate, gifted her a mobile phone to stay connected, and even brought back a white cane from the U.S. to enhance her independence. He worked tirelessly alongside her former teacher, Madam Ivy, to prepare her for the University of Cape Coast’s mature entrance exams.
Today, thanks to Daniel’s unwavering dedication and the support of CorpsAfrica/Ghana, Augustina is a university student, pursuing a degree in education—one step closer to her dream of becoming a lawyer.
Daniel’s journey with Augustina is a testament to the power of service, inclusion, and lasting impact. Now a CorpsAfrica/Ghana staff member working as a Volunteer Liaison in the Central Region of Ghana, he continues to support Volunteers as they transform lives—just as he did with Augustina.
