Description

The Maybasi Primary School kindergarten in Kusaye Beru, Oromia, has been successfully renovated, ensuring a safer and more supportive learning environment for young children. Previously, the classrooms were unsafe for both students and teachers, compromising learning quality and safety.
With a total budget of 457,900 ETB, fully covered by the community through cash, timber, and labor, the project repaired three classrooms in five phases: material collection, technical checks, planning, oversight, and maintenance. The renovation directly benefits 160 students and 4 teachers, creating a clean, safe, and welcoming place to learn while strengthening community unity and ownership.
This project was facilitated by Merete Samuel, in partnership with the Maybasi Primary School community, local authorities, and CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia.
