CorpsAfrica’s All-Country Conference Brings Together Volunteers, Staff, Partners, and Supporters in Kigali

CorpsAfrica convened its second All-Country Conference in Kigali in June 2023, uniting individuals from across Africa under the theme of Youth Shaping the Future of Africa. Over the week-long event, close to 300 CorpsAfrica Volunteers, alumni, Board members, and staff gathered alongside 600 partners, local volunteers, parents, friends, and guests of honor. The conference aimed to deepen understanding of CorpsAfrica’s locally-led development model, share experiences, and strengthen a Pan-African network committed to public service.

The conference kicked off with vibrant arrivals on June 11, as participants from various countries descended upon Kigali. The internal conference, spanning three days, delved into topics ranging from leadership development to storytelling for effective communication. Engaging breakout sessions facilitated exchanges of best practices, while plenary sessions explored CorpsAfrica’s future direction and strategic vision. The event also included visits to community projects led by CorpsAfrica/Rwanda volunteers, showcasing the impact of grassroots initiatives.

The extravaganza on June 16 marked the pinnacle of the conference, drawing a diverse audience of 1,000 guests. High-level roundtable discussions and plenary sessions featured prominent leaders, including government officials and representatives from development partners. The event concluded with a captivating Culture Night celebration, highlighting the rich tapestry of African cultures through volunteer-led performances, encapsulating the spirit of unity and collaboration fostered throughout the conference.
