International Volunteer Day 2017

IVD 2017

On Tuesday, December 5th, CorpsAfrica celebrated International Volunteer Day at the Embassy of the Republic of Malawi near Dupont Circle.

Ambassador Edward Y. Sawerengera of Malawi spoke eloquently about his support for CorpsAfrica in Malawi and across Africa. Thanks to everyone who joined us to support the CorpsAfrica Volunteers and enjoy appetizers, Malawian teas, and coffee drinks, Senegalese food and juices, and scrumptious Moroccan pastries and wines. Special thanks to Tyler Lloyd for the great pictures and to our excellent event volunteers: Jessie, Nicole, Lisa, Jonathan, Emmy, and Chris!

You can view pictures of the reception here.

Support Our Work

CorpsAfrica addresses two of Africa’s most difficult challenges: engaging youth and helping rural communities overcome extreme poverty. We recruit and train motivated volunteers to live and work in rural, under-resourced areas in their own countries. They collaborate with the community to design and implement small-scale projects that address their top priorities and, by doing so, gain the skills and experience that lay the foundation for personal and professional success.

CorpsAfrica trusts youth and communities to help each other.
