Project Overview

The Shayamba Kebele community has successfully implemented the “Eco-Solutions for Livelihoods” project, creating sustainable income opportunities while promoting environmental stewardship. The project established small production units for recycled paper products, mosquito-repellent candles, and eco-friendly soaps, reducing waste and improving community health.
With a total budget of 350,600 ETB—partly contributed by the community in resources and the remainder covered by CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia—the initiative directly benefits 21 households and indirectly supports 102 individuals. Youth and women received hands-on training, equipping them with practical skills to generate income while fostering a cleaner, greener environment.
This project was facilitated by Abdurahman Jemal, in partnership with the Shayamba Kebele community, local authorities, and CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia.

Support Our Work

CorpsAfrica addresses two of Africa’s most difficult challenges: engaging youth and helping rural communities overcome extreme poverty. We recruit and train motivated volunteers to live and work in rural, under-resourced areas in their own countries. They collaborate with the community to design and implement small-scale projects that address their top priorities and, by doing so, gain the skills and experience that lay the foundation for personal and professional success.

CorpsAfrica trusts youth and communities to help each other.
