The Kobech community has successfully completed the renovation project at Kobech Elementary School, ensuring a safer and more supportive learning environment for students. Previously, three classrooms were unsafe and posed risks to both children and teachers.
The community worked together to demolish the unsafe classrooms and construct two new ones, reusing salvaged materials to reduce costs and promote sustainability. With a total budget of 334,200 ETB and 25% contributed by the community, the project demonstrates strong ownership and resourcefulness. Students now have a clean, safe, and welcoming place to learn, while the initiative has strengthened community pride and collaboration.
This project was facilitated by Mihret Getaneh, in partnership with the Kobech community, local authorities, and CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia.
