Ever since I saw the banner by the road side in caps written “WELCOME TO BARINGO” I have been cornered by a repetitive thought of what actually is the chemistry behind volunteering. Volunteering is more than giving time- it’s about connecting with people, sharing what I can, and learning even more in return. These beautiful moments remind me that real change begins in simple acts; a shared laugh, a skill passed on, or a small group coming together to make something meaningful. Seeing the joy, teamwork, and creativity during this training reminded me how powerful community spirit truly is.
I can confidently say, “If you want to see things you’ve never seen, then do what you’ve never done.” That’s the heart of it – stepping out, trying new things, and serving with purpose. Each experience shapes not only the communities we support but also who we become along the way. Through volunteering, I keep discovering that giving and growing often happen at the same time.
