Project Overview

Kolibo is a peri-urban agricultural community of approximately 300 people, half of whom are young. The project responds to limited economic opportunities for young people, unemployment, rural-to-urban migration and associated social vulnerabilities.

The proposed solution is a 500 m² modern poultry facility initially housing 250 birds, with poultry manure reused as fertiliser. The project aims to provide a stable source of income for economically inactive young people aged 18–35.

The poultry enterprise is expected to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for local youth, reduce economic pressure to migrate, and generate additional employment as the farm grows. Fifty percent of profits would be reinvested, with plans to expand the farm after the third production cycle and establish a solidarity credit fund for other economic activities.
