The Dega Ocholo community has successfully completed the construction of safe and fully functional classrooms for grades 1–6 in Odo Bera Kebele. Previously, the old classrooms were unfinished and unsafe, lacking doors, windows, and plastered walls, which made learning difficult and unsafe for students.
The project directly benefits 166 households and indirectly supports 664 individuals in the surrounding area. With a total cost of 350,000 ETB, CorpsAfrica contributed 250,000 ETB, while the community contributed 100,000 ETB through cash, materials, and labor from 11 development teams. The community completed the existing classrooms and constructed one additional classroom, creating a conducive and welcoming environment for learning.
This project was facilitated by Tigist Mulualem, in partnership with the Dega Ocholo community, local education leaders, and CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia.
