The Yayeqe community in Mirab Abaya has successfully renovated three classrooms at Yayeqe Primary School, creating a safer and more supportive learning environment for students and teachers. Previously, the classrooms were in poor condition and posed safety risks, negatively affecting learning outcomes and attendance.
The project directly benefits 558 households and indirectly supports 2,608 individuals in the surrounding community. With a total budget of 330,597 ETB, CorpsAfrica covered 75%, while the community contributed 82,648 ETB (25%) through cash and in-kind support. The renovations have improved classroom safety and comfort, increased student attendance, and strengthened community ownership and engagement in education.
This project was facilitated by Tsion Mulugeta, in partnership with the Yayeqe community, local education authorities, and CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia.
