Description

The Dongora community in Sidama has successfully completed a water project to prevent water waste and contamination, ensuring safer access to clean water. Previously, damaged infrastructure limited access and contributed to sanitation and health challenges.
With a total budget of 332,390 ETB and full community support, the project directly benefits 196 households and indirectly supports 784 individuals. The initiative involved rebuilding the damaged water tanker floor and repairing nine traditional water points (bonos). Completed in three months, the project now provides 957 people with improved access to clean water, enhanced sanitation, and a healthier environment. It has also strengthened community cohesion and raised awareness about protecting water resources and public health.
This project was facilitated by Mastewal Abiyu, in partnership with the Dongora community, local authorities, and CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia.
