The Bera Tedicho Tinsia Primary School community has successfully constructed a durable six-partition latrine, addressing long-standing sanitation challenges that previously affected student health and attendance.
With a total budget of 319,550 ETB, including 25% contributed by the community, the project directly benefits 422 households and indirectly supports 1,688 individuals. The facility now serves 386 students and 38 teachers, providing safe, hygienic, and gender-sensitive sanitation. Supported by CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia, the project has significantly improved student well-being, enhanced hygiene practices, and strengthened community ownership and participation in maintaining school infrastructure.
This project was facilitated by Mengesha Nigussie, in partnership with the Bera Tedicho Tinsia community, local authorities, and CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia.
