The Elgo Fango community has successfully rebuilt its health post, ensuring improved access to safe and quality healthcare for women and children. Previously, the old mud-and-wood building, constructed in 1995, was unsafe and inadequate for delivering essential health services.
The new facility directly benefits 60 households and indirectly supports 288 individuals in the surrounding area, providing three separate rooms to deliver care effectively to 550 women and children. With a total cost of 578,900 ETB, the community contributed 145,000 ETB, while the Woreda Health Office provided 185,900 ETB in in-kind support. This rebuilt health post represents a significant advancement in community health, safety, and well-being.
This project was facilitated by Tewelde Gereziher Geremeanta, in partnership with the Elgo Fango community, Woreda local health authorities, and CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia.
