Project Overview

The Youth and Women Led Liquid Soap Production Project in Gacheno, Boditi Woreda, aims to combat youth unemployment and low household income in Southern Ethiopia. Utilizing participatory approaches, the community chose liquid soap production for its local demand and manageable costs. The project will benefit 10 participants (60% women), who will renovate a soap production house and receive training in production, quality control, and business management over three months. With a budget of 197,757 ETB (25% from the community), the initiative targets local markets and expects to provide regular income, enhance financial skills, and establish a community-managed enterprise. Through profit reinvestment and local partnerships, the project seeks to create a sustainable model for economic empowerment.
