On April 10, 2025, CorpsAfrica/Kenya held its annual Pitch Day at The BOMA Hotel in Nairobi, bringing together Volunteers, community partners, government officials, and donors to celebrate the power of local philanthropy. More than 170 in-person guests attended, alongside 376 online viewers who joined via live stream.

The day began with an exhibition of 42 community-led projects, giving attendees a chance to engage directly with Volunteers and see the impact of their initiatives. Six Volunteers then took the stage to pitch their projects, sharing compelling solutions to challenges in water access, education, health, and sanitation. Their presentations not only highlighted the creativity and commitment of CorpsAfrica Volunteers but also served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen their public speaking and networking skills.

A keynote address by Nur Riday of Davis & Shirtliff underscored the importance of local giving in driving sustainable development. The message resonated with the audience, who responded with generosity: more than KES 1,048,323 ($8,139.15) was raised during the event, with an additional KES 599,116 ($4,651.52) pledged.

Pitch Day 2025 reaffirmed CorpsAfrica’s mission to empower young Africans to work alongside communities to design and implement transformative projects. The event not only raised vital resources but also deepened connections among Volunteers, partners, and supporters who share a vision for lasting change in Kenya.
